The Tasteful White

Since the ancient times, mankind had been in constant search of condiments, spices and seasonings that make food more pleasant to the taste. Through the years, a vast variety of seasonings and spices made from different ingredients were discovered by people from different places and were traded in exchange for other foods or things. With the never ending search for new tastes comes the invention of different styles of cooking. One of the styles of cooking that is popular in all parts of the world is the combining of sauce to a cuisine.

One of the most favored and used type of sauce is the white sauce. Also known as the Béchamel sauce, white sauce can be used in the cooking of a variety of dishes such as home made macaroni and cheese and Greek moussaka. It is also used to enhance fish, chicken, seafood and vegetable dishes aside from pasta. The chance to use white or Béchamel sauce is endless once one had mastered how to make it well and how to make its variations to go with different recipes.

Nowadays that the price of every commodity in the market tends to rise from time to time, learning to make white sauce can be such a great and inexpensive way to make simple dishes taste extraordinarily as the ingredients are usually found in a typical kitchen like the butter, milk and flour.
